Administrative Change for 2024-2025 (Rock Creek Elementary)

Hello Rock Creek Families!

It was a joy to see so many of you at the PTO Spring Block Party! It is always a fun way to celebrate together as we approach the end of the school year.

We wanted to share an important update with you all. We know some of you might be aware, but next school year Mrs. Katherine Reynolds- Sandstrom, our Administrative Intern, will be leaving our building. She will still be serving in our district, but will now be the Assistant Principal at DuBray Middle School. We are thrilled for her new adventure, but she will be greatly missed here at Rock Creek Elementary. In her short time here, she has made a lasting and profound impact on our students, staff, and families. While we are sad to see her go, we know that she will still continue to impact so many lives in this new role in our district. As you know, she brings years of middle school teaching experience, which will make Mrs. Sandstrom a vital resource and impactful leader at DuBray Middle School. Please wish her well on her new adventure as we will each miss her a ton.

While we will greatly miss Mrs. Sandstrom, we are excited to share that Mrs. Bridget McCoy will join us for the 2024-2025 school year serving as our Assistant Principal. She brings in administrative experience from both St. Peters Elementary and Progress South Elementary. She is extremely excited to join our Rock Creek family and we are excited to welcome her wisdom, experience, and passion for individual student success. We are excited to have her join our team and we are excited for everyone to meet her at the start of the school year.

Here is a welcome letter from Mrs. McCoy to you all. Make sure you take a read!

"Hello!

My name is Bridget McCoy and I am SO excited to be joining the Rock Creek Family as the Assistant Principal next year!  I know it is going to be a year of fun, learning, and exciting adventures together!  I thought I'd start off by telling you a little bit about myself.  I was born and raised in Missouri.  My husband, Tim and I have a 3 year old daughter named Zoe.  We also have 2 husky shepherd dogs named Zeus and Athena.  You can often find us hiking in parks, playing outside, hanging out with the goats, or traveling together.  My personal favorite things include reading, baking, cooking, drinking coffee, and singing!  I love the color pink, sour candy, and chips!  My favorite singer is Taylor Swift and my favorite sports team is the St. Louis Blues!   A quote I live by is “Leave a little sparkle wherever you go!”

As for my education journey, this will be my 11th year in education.  Before becoming an administrator, I was a K-5 Special Education Teacher and a First Grade teacher.  Building connections with students, staff, and parents while having fun and learning is one of my favorite things that I get to do every single day!  I value open communication and working together to support each child as I know that together we can make a difference!  I look forward to partnering together to foster a love of learning with your child to make a positive difference in their life!

I can’t wait to meet you! :)

Mrs. Bridget McCoy"

Thanks and WELCOME Mrs. McCoy!
