RCE Spring Block Party Frequently Asked Questions

When is the event?

The event is being held Saturday, April 22, 2023 from 2 PM until 5 PM.  The event will start and end promptly at these times.

What is the cost to attend?

The cost to attend the event is free for all RCE families.  This event is a gift from the PTO as a huge thank you to our amazing RCE families, teachers, and staff for your continued support.  We will have food available for purchase (see Question 4).

What will be available for attendees?

We will have the bubble bus, bounce houses, face painting, balloon art, and Kona Ice.  New this year will be a Craft Fair for RCE families to showcase and sell their merchandise.  Please note, we have 400 students who attend RCE; therefore, there may be lines for some of the activities the day of the event.  Please be patient as our goal is to ensure maximum participation in the event.  We will have volunteers who will monitor activities.

Will there be any food?

We are offering a meal that will include a hot dog, chips, and a drink for $4 per person (if preordered) or $5 per person (if purchased at the event).  We strongly encourage families to pre-order as quantities available for purchase at the event will be limited and will be first come-first serve.  We will also have other concessions available for purchase, such as the Kona Ice truck.

Is the Craft Fair open to the public?

The Craft Fair is only open to RCE families to showcase and sell their merchandise.

Where should I park?

Parking will be in the main school parking lot and the upper parking lot.  As parking is limited, we recommend families ride together where practicable.  Please be respectful and mindful of pedestrians walking.

Where is the event at the school?

The event will be held in the school playground and accompanying fields.  The gates to the playground will be closed during the event.

What happens in the event of rain or other inclement weather?

In the event of rain or other inclement weather, we will hold the event inside.  This will preclude some of the activities from occurring (i.e, bubble bus); however, we believe the event will still be fun even if we do have to move it indoors.

Do we need to RSVP for the event?

No, an RSVP is not required.  However, we do ask the hotdog meals be pre-purchased if possible (see Question 4 for details).

Are we able to come and go for the event?

Yes, families are able to come and go as needed for the event.  However, we ask that you be mindful of pedestrians walking as you come and go.

Can I bring my own food to the event?

Yes, your own food may be brought.  NO ALCOHOL is allowed and nothing in glass containers.

Is there anything I should bring?

We are encouraging families to bring their own lawn chairs to the event as any available seating is extremely limited.  Additionally, you may bring your own drinks or food (please see question 10 for details).

Is there anything that is prohibited from bringing?

Please do not bring any pets, glass containers, or fire pits.  Additionally, NO ALCOHOL is allowed.  Additionally, please no smoking or vaping.

When are pre-orders for the hotdog meals due?

We ask all pre-orders for the hotdogs meal be turned in by April 14, 2023.

Will something come home if we pre-order the hotdog meals?

Yes, we will send meal tickets home by April 21, 2023.  We will notify parents with an email from the school as well as on the PTO Facebook page when the tickets are sent home.

 Will there be volunteer opportunities?

Yes, we will post volunteer opportunities as we get closer to the event.

Will teachers and staff be at the event?

Yes, many of the teachers and staff will be attending the event.

Will the school be open during the event?

Yes, the school will be open for restroom use during the event.

What will be done to ensure only RCE families attend?

Every RCE family is invited to attend.  We will not be handing out tickets; therefore, we ask that only RCE families attend.

Is my preschooler, middle, or high school child able to attend?

Yes, as long as they are a member of an RCE student’s family.

What is being done for safety?

The gates to the playground will be closed.  Additionally, we will be monitoring to help ensure activities stay within the gates.  We will have volunteers at each activity to help ensure the safety of attendees and help ensure everyone gets to participate.  Parents are ultimately responsible for the safety of their own children and volunteers are present to help make this an enjoyable event for all.

Who should I contact if I have additional questions?

Additional questions should be sent to the RCE PTO at rockcreekofallonpto@gmail.com
